At WiggleTots, parents sometimes ask me if our aims and themes, in our toddler dance classes changes each week. The answer is no they don’t change weekly but termly. The reason for this, is because children learn through repetition, learning the same thing each week. They also thrive in an environment where there is routine and structure, and where they can begin to anticipate what happens next.

As you might be aware, at WiggleTots this term we have been developing our fine motor skills with our Tiny Little Fairy finger play song, dressing up and collecting treasure.The development of fine motor skills are not only important for dancers but also for eating, dressing, (especially fiddly zips and buttons) feeding and writing.
Finger play songs and rhymes are a fun way to develop the muscles in the fingers, wrists, hands, strengthening hand grip and developing wrist movement.
As children are going to school as early as 4 years old, the need for these skills is as important as ever. They are needed in Academics skills such as writing, drawing, cutting, turning...

Wow, we are soooooo excited to have won the Highly Commended award again at the Whats On Awards. This is the second year we have won this. This year it was in the "Best Local Activity for the under 5's" category. Very chuffed. Thank you so much for all those who voted.
We have also been nominated for another award in the Kallikids Awards and the finals are in September so we will be keeping our fingers crossed.
Can you believe on Friday there will be 4 weeks left until schools break up for summer. Like me, you might have mixed feelings about the summer holidays. Yes its great to spend more time with my children but they do drive me a bit crazy too (should I admit that???.)

Wiggletots has made it to the finals again. We are super excited to have made it to the final of the Whats On Awards again this year. We claimed the Highly Commended Award last year and it will be fantastic to see so many lovely people at the awards again.
Pip and Pop the Wiggletots will be coming this year, and as it is their first time I am sure they will love it.
The date is set for Friday the 19th of June 2015 at Drayton Manor, so I will be keeping my fingers crossed.
